Finally, India’s cheapest and much-awaited Aakash tablet is here and is open to buy online. The manufacturer, Datawind has launched it as Ubislate7 in India, and the student version is named as the Aakash tablet. (More details)
“This is a made-in-India product. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to do this. The final goal is to either provide the same features at a lower cost or provide better functionality and features at the same cost,” said Suneet Sing Tuli, CEO of DataWind.
Ubislate 7 is an updated version of Aakash tablet and will be commercially available to everyone. This next generation of Aakash is loaded with better features and specifications, and any person can buy it now online.
Telecom and Education Minister Kapil Sibbal said at the launch of Aakash, “The rich have access to the digital world, the poor and ordinary have been excluded. Aakash will end that digital divide.”
The world’s cheapest tablet pc has already received for the revised version Aakash 2. In a fortnight, it has received 500,000 orders from dealers and distributors across the country.
